A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol at Stoner Studio Theater - Des Moines Performing Arts

How many times have you read the story of Scrooge without ever watching him change right in front of you? Iowa Stage Theatre Company brings Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol to Stoner Studio Theater in Des Moines on Saturday, December 19, 2026, at 7:30 PM, and this adaptation uses movement, music and fresh storytelling perspectives to make the journey from bitterness to redemption feel immediate and real. Live actors give Scrooge’s choices a human presence to follow.

The Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future don't just visit Scrooge; they force him to see what he's become and imagine what he might still choose to be. That tension between regret and possibility is why the story survives. Sharing the performance gives you a chance to compare what you notice in his resistance and his eventual change.

This is the kind of evening that becomes part of your December routine if you let it. Plan it with someone who appreciates a good story told well, someone who understands that the holidays are better when you share something meaningful instead of just surviving the season. Explore tickets for A Christmas Carol at Stoner Studio Theater and choose a Saturday evening for Dickens’ enduring question.
