A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol at Stoner Studio Theater - Des Moines Performing Arts

Scrooge's journey from bitterness toward redemption remains one of the most powerful transformations in literature because it asks a question we all face: Is change still possible? Iowa Stage Theatre Company presents Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol at Stoner Studio Theater in Des Moines on Wednesday, December 16, 2026, at 7:30 PM, bringing that question to life through movement, music and fresh storytelling perspectives. Theater works best when it holds up a mirror to something you recognize, and Scrooge's story doesn't soften the edges of regret, loss or the weight of choices made long ago.

The Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future guide Scrooge through a night that forces him to confront who he's become. Iowa Stage’s movement and music offer fresh ways to follow that emotional arc. If you've ever wondered whether it's too late to make amends or change direction, this story meets you where you are.
