A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol at Stoner Studio Theater - Des Moines Performing Arts

You know the story. Scrooge, three ghosts, one long night that changes everything. A Christmas Carol asks whether people can actually change, whether bitterness can turn into something warmer, whether redemption is real or just wishful thinking. Iowa Stage Theatre Company brings Charles Dickens' classic to Stoner Studio Theater in Des Moines on Friday, December 18, 2026, at 7:30 PM, using movement, music and fresh storytelling perspectives to make a familiar tale feel newly urgent.

Theater works because it puts transformation right in front of you. Live actors give Scrooge’s movement from isolation toward connection a human presence to follow. The Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future don't just narrate; they guide someone through the hardest journey there is: looking honestly at who you've been and who you might still become.

December is the season for second chances, for believing people can surprise you, for stories that remind us why kindness matters. Bring someone who loves the story or someone who needs to remember that change is possible. Explore tickets for A Christmas Carol at Stoner Studio Theater.
