A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol at Stoner Studio Theater - Des Moines Performing Arts

A Christmas Carol asks whether anyone can change, even someone as bitter as Scrooge. Charles Dickens gave us a story about second chances, and Iowa Stage Theatre Company brings that journey to the Stoner Studio Theater in Des Moines on Sunday, December 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Scrooge is visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, each one pulling him closer to the redemption he doesn't yet believe he deserves. If the possibility of choosing differently appeals to you, Scrooge’s story gives that question a seasonal setting.

Iowa Stage Theatre Company approaches the classic using movement, music and fresh storytelling perspectives. The familiar beats remain, but the production finds new angles on a tale you thought you already knew. Live actors give those choices a human form to follow, inviting you to consider what Scrooge recognizes and what he still resists.

A Sunday afternoon spent with A Christmas Carol is time given to the season's best tradition: stories that remind us why kindness matters. Bring the people who make your holidays whole. Explore tickets for A Christmas Carol at Stoner Studio Theater and make December 13 the day you choose hope over cynicism.
