About Stoner Theater
Stoner Theater is a flexible black-box theater inside the Des Moines Civic Center at 221 Walnut Street. Des Moines Performing Arts lists its capacity as 182. It is home to Pyramid Theatre Company, Iowa Stage Theatre Company and Des Moines Young Artists’ Theatre, with a program that includes theater, comedy, improv and other presentations.

Which entrance leads to Stoner Theater?
Use the Ticket Office entrance at the southwest corner of the Civic Center building on Walnut Street. Stoner Theater is a separate performance space from the Civic Center’s Main Hall; check the venue name on your ticket.
Is seating assigned or open?
The black-box room allows different production layouts. Iowa Stage uses open seating for its Stoner performances. Check the particular production rather than assuming every presentation has the same seating policy.
Which downtown ramps are convenient?
DMPA identifies Fourth and Grand and Third and Court as parking options. Third and Court connects to the Civic Center by skywalk. Nearby street meters charge Monday–Saturday, 9 AM–9 PM; ramp event fees vary.
What access services can I arrange?
Assistive listening is available for Stoner performances using amplified sound. DMPA also schedules ASL interpretation and audio description for designated performances. Call 515-246-2300 or email [email protected] to confirm services and seating for your date.
What refreshments are offered?
