Just in Time

Just in Time at Des Moines Civic Center

Bobby Darin's music carries the swagger of someone who knew his time was limited and refused to waste a minute. Just in Time builds a musical around that urgency, drawing from the life and catalog of a performer who moved from swing to rock to folk without asking permission. If Darin's voice reminds you of a specific time, person, or version of yourself, this theatrical production gives those songs a story to live inside. Des Moines Civic Center hosts the musical Thursday, August 26, 2027, at 7:30 PM.

Theater lets music breathe differently than a recording. Just in Time uses Darin's work to trace the arc of a performer who built a career across different musical interests. The musical doesn't ask you to memorize dates or achievements. It asks you to feel what drove someone to keep reinventing himself when standing still would have been easier.

Bring the person in your life who taught you to appreciate Darin, or the friend who still plays "Beyond the Sea" without irony. Music this good deserves to be heard in a room full of people who understand why it still matters.
