Just in Time

Just in Time at Des Moines Civic Center

Bobby Darin made music that swung, crooned, and refused to sit still. Just in Time is a musical built around Darin's life and music, a theatrical production that brings his catalog and story to the stage. If you grew up hearing "Mack the Knife" or "Beyond the Sea," or if you simply love music that swings between elegance and defiance, this is a reason to encounter his story through a musical. Wednesday, August 25, 2027, at 7:30 PM, Des Moines Civic Center hosts a night that celebrates an artist who moved effortlessly between jazz, pop, rock, and everything in between.

Theater gives music a second life. Hearing Darin's songs performed live, woven into the arc of a story, means feeling them differently than any recording can deliver. You get the sweep of a career that burned bright and fast, told through the music that defined it. Musical theater works because it gives you permission to feel everything at once: joy, nostalgia, admiration, and the bittersweet awareness that some voices leave us too soon.

Bring someone who remembers when these songs were everywhere, or someone who deserves to hear them for the first time in a room full of people who care. Make Wednesday night the one you don't spend at home. Explore tickets for Just in Time at Des Moines Civic Center.
