Gary Owen

Gary Owen at Hoyt Sherman Place Theater

Saturday nights were made for laughter that pulls you out of the everyday grind. Gary Owen delivers stand-up built on sharp observation, fearless personal storytelling, and the kind of absurdity you recognize from your own life. November 7, 2026, at 8:00 PM, Hoyt Sherman Place Theater in Des Moines hosts a comedian who has built a career on saying what others think but won't admit out loud.

Owen's material pulls from personal experience, military service, and the ridiculous moments that make up ordinary life. His screen work includes Think Like a Man and The Gary Owen Show, but stand-up is where his humor hits hardest. Comedy works best when someone else articulates the frustration, confusion, or surprise you've been carrying around all week. Owen specializes in turning everyday reality into something worth laughing about.
