Sara Evans at Hoyt Sherman Place Theater
Sara Evans gives country fans a familiar voice to build an evening around. Her voice carries the kind of clarity and emotion that made songs like "Born to Fly" and "Suds in the Bucket" impossible to ignore when they first arrived on country radio. If you grew up listening to those records, or if you discovered them later and wondered why nobody writes country music that honest anymore, Friday, December 18, 2026, at 7:30 PM gives you the chance to hear that voice live at Hoyt Sherman Place Theater in Des Moines.
Country music works best when it sounds like the person singing it has lived the story. Evans delivers that authenticity without trying too hard. Her catalog spans decades, and the songs hold up because they were built on real emotion, not trends. Her recorded work can be a starting point for your interest in hearing her perform, without deciding in advance which songs the evening will include.
Bring someone who remembers singing along to these songs in the car. Make it a night for the two of you to hear the music that shaped your taste in country. Explore tickets for Sara Evans at Hoyt Sherman Place.
