Joshua Henry at Des Moines Civic Center
Joshua Henry's voice carries weight. The kind of weight that fills a theater and stays with you long after the curtain falls. On Friday, April 23, 2027, at 7:30 PM, he brings that voice to Des Moines Civic Center for a concert billed Get Up, Stand Up. Henry won the 2026 Tony Award for portraying Coalhouse Walker Jr. in Ragtime, giving theatre fans another reason to follow his concert work. If you've ever felt a performance shift something inside you, this is the evening to feel it again.
Henry's stage credits include Carousel, Violet, The Scottsboro Boys and Hamilton, roles that demand both vocal power and emotional honesty. A concert offers a different focus from following one of those characters through a musical. The singer’s phrasing and interpretation can become the reason for the outing, even without a familiar plot to follow.
Bring someone who appreciates theater. Or come alone and let yourself be moved by a performer who knows how to make every note count. Explore tickets for Joshua Henry at Des Moines Civic Center.
