Bluey's Big Play
Bluey's Big Play at Des Moines Civic Center
Bluey already knows how to turn an ordinary day into an adventure. Now imagine watching that creativity unfold live, with puppets, an original story by Joe Brumm, and music by Joff Bush filling Des Moines Civic Center on Tuesday, April 20, 2027, at 6:00 PM. This is Bluey's Big Play, a theatrical adaptation presented by BBC Studios, Andrew Kay, and Windmill Theatre Co. It's not a screening of episodes you've already watched at home. It's a new story built for the stage.
The plot centers on Bluey and Bingo devising games to get Dad off his beanbag, a premise any parent will recognize. The humor, the heart, the sibling teamwork: it all translates into a live format designed to pull families into the action rather than just observe it. The stage format offers another way for your family to follow a familiar set of characters.
Bluey speaks to kids without talking down to them, and to parents without ignoring what makes parenting exhausting and wonderful at the same time. The original stage story gives a returning fan something new to anticipate. Bring the whole family and give everyone a reason to look up from the couch.
